Hey everyone! I recently embarked on an incredible journey to Bali, Indonesia, without much of a planning just a leap of faith, yes i know crazy right? It was last minute, because all the hotels I wanted to book in advance were sold out. I was very satisfied with the results. The hotels I booked were much cheaper than my original plan. I booked most of my stays through Agoda, where they were about 25% cheaper than on other websites. To my surprise, this spontaneous trip turned out to be one of my most memorable adventures yet. I hopped from one place to another, soaking in everything Bali had to offer and ofcourse also the Bali Belly experince!
I'm excited to share my experiences with you and offer some tips and things to do in bali!
Uluwatu: Serenity and Stunning Sunsets

My first stop was Uluwatu, a tranquil paradise known for its breathtaking cliffside views and serene atmosphere. The highlight was the Uluwatu Temple perched on a dramatic cliff, offering a picturesque backdrop for the most stunning sunsets I've ever seen. For beach lovers, Padang Padang and Bingin Beach are must visits for their crystal clear waters and great surfing spots. If you get the chance explore nearby beaches like Dreamland Beach and Thomas Beach, each with its unique charm and beauty.
My go to beach club in uluwatu was El Kabron Beach Club. Trust me, it's paradise on earth! With its infinity pool overlooking the ocean and a vibe that's both luxurious and relaxing, El Kabron is the perfect place to unwind. I lounged, swam, and just soaked in the breathtaking views. Although I didn't get to visit Savaya Beach Club, it's on my list for my next visit. From what I've heard, it's a place of vibrant energy and stunning beauty, ideal for anyone looking to experience the best of Uluwatu's beach club scene.
Here is some of the culinary delights i've tried in uluwatu:
Suka Espresso: This was my go to spot for lunch. The food here is simply amazing – fresh, flavorful, and perfectly presented. A must visit for foodies!
Gooseberry Restaurant: Offering a cozy ambiance and delicious cuisine, Gooseberry was another culinary highlight. Their menu is diverse, catering to all taste buds.
Ulu Cliffhouse: Known for the best sunsets, Ulu Cliffhouse is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. The view of the sun dipping below the horizon here is mesmerizing.
Single Fin: You stole my heart! My first visit i was pretty surprised, i somehow ended up on unexpected wednesday night party, I was hooked. What started as a plan for a quick drink morphed into an unforgettable all nighter. The second time, it was the ocean and the breathtaking sunset that captivated me. This place is more than just its great food and music; it's where the day's end feels like a beginning.
Canggu: A Foodie's and Party Goer's Haven
Next up was Canggu, a vibrant hub buzzing with energy. The place is a food lover's dream, with cafes and restaurants at every corner. Some of the breakfast/lunch sponts i've tried were:

Crate Cafe: Known for its hip vibe and excellent breakfasts. They offer a variety of dishes that are not only delicious but also aesthetically pleasing. Their smoothie bowls, avo toasts, and freshly brewed coffees are particularly popular among both locals and tourists.
Copenhagen Canggu: Ofcouse i naturally drawn to this café, given my connection to Copenhagen. This cafe offers a unique Danish inspired dining experience. They are known for their healthy and organic options, Copenhagen Canggu serves a mix of delicious salads, sandwiches, and breakfast platters. Their minimalist and cozy decor adds to the overall delightful experience.
La Brisa Bali: Located right on Echo Beach, La Brisa is famous for its stunning beachfront setting and rustic decor. This place is perfect for a relaxed meal or a sunset drink. The menu features a mix of local and international dishes with a focus on fresh, sustainable seafood.
Luigi's Hot Pizza: Close to La Mexicola, Luigi's is known for its delicious pizza and lively atmosphere, especially on its famous 'Monday Madness' nights.
Local Food Recommendation - Warung Bu Mi: For an authentic Balinese culinary experience, visit Warung Bu Mi. It's a local eatery (warung) popular for its delicious and affordable Indonesian dishes. You can enjoy a variety of local flavors here, including Nasi Campur (mixed rice with a selection of sides), Sate Ayam (chicken satay), and other traditional Balinese dishes.
Canggu's nightlife is a vibrant tapestry of experiences. La Mexicola stands out with its vibrant Mexican vibes they are famous for hosting fun parties and captivating events, it's a magnet for those seeking an energetic nightlife. Another gem I adored was The Lawn perfect for enjoying music and meeting fellow travelers making it a great spot for a night out. Beach clubs in Canggu are in a league of their own. Finns Beach Club and Atlas Beach Club are the epitomes of Canggu's beach scene.
When it comes to shopping, don't miss the sunday markets at La Brisa, perfect for picking up unique souvenirs and local crafts. Nearby is the famous Love Anchor Market, a must visit for anyone looking to shop jewelry in Canggu.
For surf enthusiasts, Canggu Beach offers waves suited for all levels, from beginners to seasoned surfers. It's a great spot to either ride the waves or just soak in the beach vibes.
Ubud: Connecting with Nature and Culture

Then, I headed to Ubud, the cultural heart of Bali. This place made me feel deeply connected to nature and Balinese traditions. I strolled through the Ubud Monkey Forest marveled at the Tegallalang Rice Terraces, and soaked in the artistic aura of the Royal Palace. Ubud is also a hotspot for yoga and wellness; a yoga class or a wellness session here is a must do to experience the spiritual essence of the island. Lunchtime in Ubud offered me the quintessence of coziness at Ivy Cafe. Tucked away in the embrace of this cultural town, it was the perfect spot to revel in the simple joy of a freshly brewed coffee. I also stumbled upon Tis Cafe Ubud a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature's symphony. There, sipping on my fresh pressed juice, I gazed out at the panoramic views of Ubud's nature. In that moment,i found a deep appreciation for life's simplicity. For dining, i came across Warung Makan Bu Rus in Ubud highly recommend is a local favorite known for its authentic Indonesian and Asian cuisine. Don't forget to visit the captivating Creyta Ubud and explore the local coffee plantations for a complete Ubud experience. I only scheduled a two day stay in this enchanting town, which wasn't enough. I would have loved to explore all the mesmerizing waterfalls in the area.
Seminyak: Chic and Sophisticated

After the serene beauty of Ubud, I visited Seminyak, which reminded me a bit of Canggu but with its own unique flair. A personal favorite for lunch was the Brunch Club, where the fluffy pancakes were simply out of this world.
I also explored the flea market that had a vibe similar to Canggu's Love Anchor. It's a treasure trove for those looking to discover unique finds and souvenirs. . For daytime relaxation i spent my time at the Potato Head Beach Club, Ku De Ta, and Ms. Sippy. Each offered a unique blend of relaxation and entertainment, from lounging by the pool to sipping cocktails with the view of the ocean. In Seminyak, you'll find an abundance of upscale dining options, each offering a unique and delightful culinary experience but if you're seeking a more local and authentic taste, Made's Warung is highly recommended. This spot is a gem for those wanting to indulge in traditional Balinese cuisine.
Nightlife in Seminyak was electrifying, with La Favela and Shishi Nightclub providing unforgettable experiences the energy and music was everything the djs were literally from another planet.
I'm glad to have shared slices of my Bali escapade with you. Hopefully, this blog serves as both inspiration and a guide for your own journey.Bali truly is an endless treasure trove of experiences, and my journey has only scratched the surface. I'm deeply thankful for every moment and discovery.
Reflections and Future Plans
This trip to Bali taught me the beauty of spontaneity. Each area had its own charm, and I cherished every moment. Honest opinion i would have combined Canggu and Seminyak together as they were geograficaly close to each other and had alot of similarities and spent my last few days in Gili Islands and Lombok but hi who knew? they're definitely on my bucket list for the next adventure.
Conclusion
Bali is more than just a destination; it's an experience of diverse cultures, stunning landscapes, and vibrant lifestyles.
